TEMPTATIONS adult dry cat food is a kibble line from the brand best known for its cat treats. The manufacturer describes it as 100% complete and balanced for adult cats, and it comes in four flavors. Those are the brand’s own claims. This review is based on TEMPTATIONS’ official product and FAQ pages. It does not include feeding trials, laboratory analysis, or veterinary review, so the bag label is the document to check before you buy.
Treats and dry food are separate products
TEMPTATIONS sells two different things, and it helps to keep them apart. The first is the familiar line of crunchy, soft-centered treats, along with a creamy puree that the brand presents as a topper for dry food. The second is the adult dry cat food, which the brand presents as a complete diet. Treats are a supplement to a main diet. Only the dry food is intended to be the main diet, so this review covers that product alone.
Flavors and bag sizes
The official adult dry range lists four flavors. Sizes are shown only for one of them in the product material reviewed, and the sizes shown there may change.
| Flavor | Listed on the official overview | Bag sizes shown | Texture and nutrition details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tasty Chicken | Yes | 6.3 lb, 13.5 lb and 20 lb on the official product page; a 3.15 lb size appeared on a separate product-page variant | Crunchy bite-sized pockets with a soft filling mixed into the kibble; the brand describes real chicken as the main ingredient |
| Seafood Medley | Yes | Not stated in the product material reviewed | Not stated in the product material reviewed |
| Block Party BBQ | Yes | Not stated in the product material reviewed | Not stated in the product material reviewed |
| Tempting Tuna & Chicken | Yes | Not stated in the product material reviewed | Not stated in the product material reviewed |
Because the sizes differ between listings, confirm the weight printed on the bag you are buying. The same caution applies to availability. A flavor that appears on the official overview may not be stocked by every retailer.

What the manufacturer claims
The Tasty Chicken product page makes the following claims. Each is TEMPTATIONS’ own statement, not an independent finding.
- The food is 100% complete and balanced for adult cats.
- It provides high-quality protein.
- It supplies 35 essential vitamins, minerals and amino acids.
- It includes calcium, vitamins D and E, and omega-6 fatty acids.
- Its pockets stay crunchy outside and soft inside, which the brand presents as a palatability feature.
The official overview also cites a figure that 77% of cats live an indoor life. The page does not name the study, publisher or year behind it, so this review does not treat it as an established statistic.

What this review can and cannot confirm
The manufacturer text reviewed does not include a transcribed ingredient list, a guaranteed analysis, calorie figures or allergen information. Those details belong on the bag, and they are the only reliable basis for comparing this food with others. Before buying, check the following on the physical package:
- The complete ingredient list, in order of weight.
- The guaranteed analysis for protein, fat, fiber and moisture.
- The calorie content, usually listed as kcal per cup or kilogram.
- The “complete and balanced” statement and the life-stage wording, which should specify adult maintenance.
- The net weight and the best-by date.
No independent comparison of the four flavors was found, so this review cannot say which flavor performs best for palatability or digestion. Those questions are best answered by trying a small bag and watching your cat’s stool, appetite and coat over several weeks.

How to switch your cat to TEMPTATIONS dry food
The official feeding instructions advise a gradual change. The exact wording is: “WHEN INTRODUCING TEMPTATIONS™ DRY CAT FOOD, GRADUALLY MIX IT WITH YOUR CAT’S CURRENT FOOD OVER THE COURSE OF 7-10 DAYS.” Follow these steps to do that:
- On days 1 to 3, mix about one quarter new food with three quarters of the current food.
- On days 4 to 6, move to a half-and-half mix.
- On days 7 to 9, use about three quarters new food with one quarter of the old.
- From about day 10, feed the new food alone, if your cat is eating the mixes without trouble.
- Keep clean, fresh water available at all times during the change.
- Store the bag in a cool, dry place, and keep it sealed.
The day ranges in these steps are a practical translation of the 7-10 day guidance, not a manufacturer schedule. If your cat has vomiting, diarrhea or refuses food during the switch, slow the transition down and consult your veterinarian. The brand’s FAQ gives the same advice.

How much to feed and mixing with wet food
The brand’s FAQ gives general daily portion guidance by cat body weight. Those amounts are starting points. The FAQ itself notes that needs vary with life stage, age, weight and activity level, so they are not individualized veterinary advice. Use the feeding table on the current bag or FAQ page as your starting point, then adjust based on your cat’s body condition.
The FAQ also says adult wet and dry TEMPTATIONS foods can be mixed, with portions adjusted to your cat’s calorie needs. If you combine the two, reduce the dry portion accordingly. Count treats too. Every treat adds calories on top of the main diet, and the manufacturer presents treats as a separate category from complete food.

Checklist before you buy
- Confirm that the bag says adult dry cat food, and check the flavor you want.
- Read the ingredient list and guaranteed analysis on the bag in your hand, not on a web page.
- Choose a bag size you can finish within the printed best-by period, given your cat’s daily intake.
- Plan a 7-10 day transition before you open the bag.
- Ask your veterinarian to review the food if your cat has a diagnosed medical condition or special dietary needs.
Verdict
TEMPTATIONS adult dry cat food is a manufacturer-positioned complete and balanced kibble with four flavors and a gradual-switch feeding process. The brand’s claims about nutrition, texture and palatability cannot be confirmed from its own pages, and the lack of a published ingredient list or guaranteed analysis in the material reviewed means the bag label should decide the purchase. For cat owners who want a mainstream dry food from a brand they already know, it is a reasonable option to evaluate, provided the label checks out and the switch is done slowly.
