A panda’s pursuit of a peacock at China’s Chengdu Panda Research Base ends not with a showdown, but with a bamboo snack. In Scroll.in’s 2017 video report, the peacock escapes up a tree, the panda tumbles backward, and both animals eventually turn to food.
What happens in the panda and peacock video?
The scene begins with the peacock displaying its plumage while the panda reacts angrily. The panda then chases the bird around trees. When the peacock flies up a tree, the panda falls backward.
The chase stops after the panda notices a bamboo stick. It sits down and nibbles the bamboo, while the peacock also begins pecking at food nearby. The apparent feud gives way to two animals eating in the same area.
Where was the video filmed?
Scroll.in identifies the location as the Chengdu Panda Research Base in China. Its report, published July 4, 2017, describes the encounter there: Scroll.in’s video report.

How does the feud end?
Bamboo distracts the panda and brings the pursuit to an end. The peacock also stops to feed nearby, so the comic resolution is simultaneous snacking rather than a confrontation.
Why does the scene look familiar?
Scroll.in humorously compares the chase to Po and Lord Shen from Kung Fu Panda 2 and to Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner. These are playful comparisons to the action on screen, not evidence that the animals are reenacting either story.
