The Yanqing District investigation attributed the woman’s injury to her leaving the vehicle and her mother’s death to leaving the vehicle to attempt a rescue. It classified the incident as not a production-safety responsibility accident. This was the investigation group’s conclusion, not a neutral resolution of every allegation about the park.
The investigation account also called for stronger safety communication, improved employee training and assessment, complete emergency-drill records, and review of safety facilities and procedures. A China Daily report on the investigation describes its findings and recommendations.

Was Badaling Wildlife World responsible?
Responsibility was disputed. The investigation said visitors had received warnings and attributed the casualties to leaving the vehicle. What should visitors learn from the incident?
The central safety lesson is to follow a wildlife park’s instructions and remain inside the vehicle in a drive-through predator area. If a passenger feels unwell or there is another problem, use the park’s communication or emergency system and wait for staff rather than opening a door near predators.
