1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesThere is no single Craigslist replacement established here for cars, furniture and pets. For general local listings, start by checking a broad marketplace available in your area; for car shopping, compare specialist auto sites; and for pet adoption, look to shelter and rescue discovery services rather than assuming a classifieds site permits direct animal sales. The candidate list below draws partly on a July 2022 guide and a search result, so verify each service’s current categories, rules, fees and local listings before using it. OfferUp is the only service in this list with current platform details verified here.
Which Craigslist alternative fits what you need?
These services are not interchangeable. A car-shopping site, a broad classified marketplace and a shelter-adoption directory can all help someone find something locally, but they serve different purposes. The table shows what the available sources support—not a current ranking or a guarantee that a service has listings in your location.
| Service | Potential fit | What is established, and what to check |
|---|---|---|
| OfferUp | General local buying and selling | Its Help Center describes a mobile-friendly platform for buying, selling and connecting with a community. It says the service is currently available only in the United States. See the current details below; check your local listings and the rules for the item you want to list. |
| Facebook Marketplace | General goods, including historically described vehicle and home/garden categories | A July 2022 Money Peach guide included it among its alternatives and described those categories. That is historical coverage, not confirmation of current rules or inventory. |
| Oodle | Broad classified listings | Sysprobs’ search result and the 2022 Money Peach guide name Oodle. The guide described vehicle and pet categories and listing aggregation; treat those descriptions as dated, not as a guarantee of present availability or coverage. |
| AutoTrader | Car shopping | Named as a car alternative in the Sysprobs search result. The available evidence does not establish its current features, fees or listing coverage. |
| Cars.com | Car shopping | Named as a car alternative in the Sysprobs search result. Confirm current inventory, seller type and terms directly before relying on it. |
| CarGurus | Car shopping | Named as a car alternative in the Sysprobs search result. Current features, fees and local inventory are not established here. |
| eBay | Potential marketplace alternative | Named in the Sysprobs search result. The available evidence does not establish current category coverage, fees or transaction protections. |
| Petfinder | Finding adoptable pets through shelters and rescues | The Sysprobs search result describes it as connecting users with local shelters and rescue organizations. That is a different purpose from a general classified sale; confirm the current organization and adoption process directly. |
| Locanto | Possible local classified option | Included in the 2022 Money Peach guide. Its historical mention does not verify present-day categories, geography or listings. |
| Gumtree | Possible local classified option | Included in the 2022 Money Peach guide. Availability and category coverage may depend on location and are not verified as current here. |
The same 2022 guide also named Recycler, Bookoo, Kijiji and Hoobly. They are additional candidates to investigate, not confirmed current recommendations: the available evidence does not establish where each operates now or which relevant categories it currently accepts.
For furniture, prioritize local availability and pickup
Furniture is bulky, so a nearby listing and a workable pickup arrangement may matter more than a marketplace’s overall size. The sources used here do not verify current furniture inventory or handoff procedures for any of the named services. Search the specific item and location, then read the platform’s current listing and transaction rules before arranging a pickup.

For cars, compare specialist shopping services with local listings
AutoTrader, Cars.com and CarGurus appear in the Sysprobs search result as car alternatives, but that result does not establish their current features or terms. Treat them as places to investigate, not as ranked recommendations. Compare the available listings in your area and check whether each listing is from a private seller or a business, what the service says about fees, and how any transaction is handled. A broad local marketplace may also surface vehicle listings, but historical category descriptions are not proof of current inventory.
For pets, distinguish adoption discovery from direct-sale classifieds
Petfinder is described by the Sysprobs search result as connecting people with local shelters and rescue organizations. That makes it a different kind of option from a general classified marketplace: it points readers toward adoption discovery rather than establishing a channel for direct pet sales. The available evidence does not establish current policies for animal listings on the other services or the local legal rules for selling, rehoming or adopting an animal. Confirm both with the service and the relevant local organization or authority before proceeding.

What OfferUp currently says about availability and fees
OfferUp’s Help Center page, updated August 31, 2026, says the service is currently available only in the United States and that full features are limited to U.S. users. It says browsing, posting and chat are free, and states: “OfferUp doesn’t charge fees or take a commission from your in-person transactions.” The same page also lists paid promotions, subscriptions, extra listings and other paid features, so that statement should not be read as saying every feature is free.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to choose and check a service
- Match the service to the category. Use a broad marketplace as a starting point for general goods, compare car-focused services for vehicle shopping, and treat shelter or rescue directories as adoption resources rather than ordinary classifieds.
- Check whether it serves your location. Search for the item or animal-related service in your area and confirm the platform is available where you live. A service name in a historical guide does not prove it has active local listings now.
- Read the current category rules. Before posting or responding, confirm that the service permits the specific listing and understand any conditions that apply to vehicles, furniture or animals.
- Check fees and transaction terms directly. Do not infer current pricing or protection from a marketplace’s name or from an old category list. Review the service’s own current terms, especially for paid features and how communication, payment or pickup is handled.
The 2022 candidate list is a useful starting point, not a current head-to-head comparison. Of the named services, the available up-to-date platform information here is specific to OfferUp; verify the others directly before choosing.
