Those scores reflect different publishers’ editorial assessments—not clinical evidence—and the reviews do not establish that any Identity recipe is right for a particular cat. Here’s what they say about the food, how to compare recipes, and what to check before buying.
What is Identity cat food?
Identity is a canned wet-food brand with two lines discussed in Cats.com’s review: 95% and Persona. The review describes multiple pâté recipes, including turkey, rabbit, salmon and herring options. Its recipe counts—eight for 95% and three for Persona—describe the catalog as reported when the article was updated on January 16, 2026, not a guaranteed current selection. Check the Cats.com review alongside Identity’s current listings for available recipes and labels.
Cats.com reports that the brand describes its ingredients as responsibly sourced and says its food is made in partner kitchens in Canada. Those are brand claims reported by the reviewer, not independently audited sourcing or manufacturing findings.

The scores are not directly comparable: the reviewers use different rating systems and evaluate the range in different ways and at different times. Cat Food Advisor’s review also cautions against treating one recipe’s analysis as representative of all eleven. Neither score is a laboratory result, clinical assessment or population statistic.

What do the ingredients and nutrition figures show?
Recipes differ in protein sources, ingredient lists and reported nutrient values. Cats.com’s review gives examples from both lines; its figures below are the guaranteed-analysis values it reports for those specific recipes, not values for every Identity food.
95% Free-Range Heritage Turkey & Turkey Broth pâté
The ingredient list reported by Cats.com includes turkey, turkey broth, liver, carrot, agar-agar, minerals and supplements. The review reports guaranteed analysis of 8.5% crude protein, 5% crude fat, 1% crude fiber and 78% moisture. These are the recipe’s as-fed label figures as presented in that review.

Persona European Rabbit pâté
Cats.com reports 5.5% crude protein, 4.5% crude fat, 1.5% crude fiber and 78% moisture for this recipe. Its analysis also notes coconut oil and several plant ingredients. Do not assume that these values or ingredients apply to the turkey recipe or other products.
Cat Food Advisor provides its own estimated dry-matter analysis for the turkey recipe. A dry-matter estimate is not the same thing as an as-fed guaranteed analysis, so compare figures only when you know which basis is being used. For any recipe you are considering, check the current package for its ingredient list, guaranteed analysis, nutritional-adequacy statement, life stage and feeding directions.

Will my picky cat eat it?
Cats.com says its reviewer’s cats ate foods from a sample variety pack. That is one reviewer-reported experience, not a controlled palatability or feeding trial, and it cannot predict whether another cat will accept a particular flavor. The review also reproduces individual customer comments about picky cats, preferred flavors, dietary needs, stock and shipping; those comments are anecdotes, not representative consumer research.
Is Identity cat food worth the price?
Cats.com describes the food as expensive and identifies price as a practical drawback, but its displayed prices are specific to that review and should not be treated as current. To judge value, compare the current price per ounce and the cost of feeding your cat each day—not just the price of a case. Can size, feeding directions, your cat’s needs and whether the recipe is actually in stock all affect the comparison.

Where can you buy Identity cat food?
Cats.com reports a limited Amazon selection and points readers to Identity’s site and some independent pet retailers. Availability and prices can change by recipe, seller and destination. Identity’s July 22, 2026 post says its online canned foods are sold in manufacturer-sealed cases because that is how they arrive at its fulfillment warehouse; it also points shoppers to a small discovery box. The company says independent-retailer availability varies by store. Check the brand’s explanation, Why We Don’t Sell Individual Cans of Pet Food Online, and confirm current listings, pack size, stock and price before ordering.

- Availability: Confirm the exact recipe and case or discovery-box format are in stock at the seller you plan to use.

What the reviews cannot establish
The two reviews assess products and labels; they do not establish that Identity food produces a particular health benefit or is medically appropriate for an individual cat. The sources discussed here do not report an independently published clinical feeding trial or outcome study for Identity food. For a cat with health concerns, use the current label and veterinary guidance rather than relying on an editorial rating or another cat’s experience.
