The account says a microchip registration dispute preceded the reunion; it does not establish the unnamed woman’s motives or provide a later update on Guindon and Zeus.
Who were David Guindon and Zeus?
Guindon lived in San Bernardino, California. iHeartDogs reports that a heart attack and stroke left him disabled and using a wheelchair. He adopted Zeus, a Husky, in 2014, and the article describes Zeus as professionally trained to help with tasks Guindon needed assistance with.
How did Zeus go missing?
In the account, Zeus wandered out of Guindon’s home after a nurse working there left a door unlocked. Guindon searched for him, distributing flyers and hiring a pet detective. He later adopted another dog, Zero, and began training him.
What role did Zeus’s microchip play?
iHeartDogs says HomeAgain, the microchip registry, contacted Guindon after a woman who had Zeus tried to register the chip in her own name. Guindon declined permission, explaining that Zeus had been lost rather than surrendered. The article reports that the woman first told police Zeus had run away and later surrendered him to local animal control.

How did Guindon and Zeus reunite?
According to the same retelling, Guindon was reunited with Zeus after the dog was surrendered to animal control. The article says Zeus could return home and meet Zero. It does not provide a subsequent account of their lives together.
When did this happen, and what is known?
This is an older story, not a recent reunion: iHeartDogs says it was originally shared in 2018, although the page displays a July 22, 2022 date. The page credits ABC7 and links to its report, but the account here rests on iHeartDogs’ retelling. It does not include direct quotes from Guindon, police, animal-control staff, or HomeAgain, and it does not name the woman. Her identity or reasons should not be inferred.
