Its main drawback is tracking: the pellets scatter beyond the box. The reviewer also says it is not suitable for automatic litter boxes. It is best suited to owners with a manual box who will accept a sweet scent and a higher price than clay.

FOURPAW is sold through Amazon. According to Cats.com, the brand offers its tofu litter in four fragrances and first listed it on Amazon in November 2024. The brand does not appear to have its own website or “about us” page, so the product claims below come from the reviewer’s testing and the publisher’s description rather than from a manufacturer specification that could be independently checked.
Sobus bought the bean-fragrance version and tested two 5.5-pound bags. In her account, one bag filled an average-sized litter box to a depth of a few inches, and a deeper fill would likely need a second bag.

The scores are high for clumping, odor and scent, and the lower marks sit on mess and price. The scent score is a rating of how the litter smells, and it is also the category where individual preferences matter most, as discussed below.
Clumping and scooping
Sobus reports that the litter forms firm clumps after urination. To test how the material behaves when wet, she placed a sample in a jar of water and says it dissolved into mush. The practical result in a box is that urine clumps can be lifted out as a unit, with the surrounding litter staying usable.
Scooping is rated 4.5/5, the second-highest score in the review. The reviewer did not describe any problems with clumps breaking apart during scooping, and this is the reason the rating is not a perfect five on that measure.

Dust
Sobus noticed little dust while pouring the litter and while handling the bag. For owners who have had to clean up dusty clay or crystal litter from floors and shelves, this is one of the review’s clearest positives. The dust-and-mess score of 4/5 reflects the tracking problem described below, not dust in the air.
Odor and fragrance
Odor control received a 5/5, and the bean scent was rated 5/5 as well. Sobus found the bean fragrance sweet and noticeable, though not overwhelming. She also reports that a family member disliked the smell, which shows that scent is a matter of personal preference.
The review does not compare the four fragrances against each other. If scent sensitivity is a concern in your home, the fragrance you buy matters, and the listing should be checked before ordering.
Cat acceptance
In Sobus’s household, the cats used the box for urination on the first day. However, she says the cats typically would not defecate in the pelleted litter. This is the most important caveat for a cat owner: a litter that a cat will urinate in can still be refused for bowel movements, so you should watch what your cat does over the first week or two rather than assuming acceptance from the first day.

Customer comments on the Amazon listing, reproduced by Cats.com, also include complaints about cat rejection, so this is not a problem limited to one household.
Tracking: the main drawback
The review’s central criticism is tracking. Sobus found stray litter around the box and as far as the next room. Pellets that stick to paws and are carried out of the box can build up on floors and rugs, which is a larger cleaning job than the low dust might suggest.
A litter-trapping mat placed in front of the box is a plausible way to reduce this, because it catches pellets from cat paws before they reach the rest of the room. Sobus did not test or recommend a mat, so treat a mat as an optional accessory that might help, not as a fix the review verified.
Automatic litter boxes
Sobus says the pellet shape makes the litter unsuitable for automatic litter boxes. The review’s customer comments include a specific example from an Amazon buyer, dated September 19, 2025, reproduced by Cats.com: “Unfortunately it cannot be used in the litter robot because the pieces are too big to fit through the strainer.”

Other customer comments describe litter sticking to the bottom of an automatic box. Taken together, these reports point toward incompatibility with self-cleaning boxes, but they are not a test of every model. Owners of automatic boxes should not buy this litter expecting it to work.
What a Litter-Robot-style strainer means for you
The complaint about the strainer is specific: the pellets are too large to pass through the sifting screen in that type of box. The reviewer and customers both say the litter is not suitable for automatic boxes, so the safest assumption for any self-cleaning model is that it will not work.
Price
Sobus describes the price as similar to other tofu litters and potentially expensive for people used to clay litter. The review does not give a current price, so compare the listing price per pound or per bag against your clay litter to see how the cost works out for your cat.

Flushing and disposal
The litter is described as flushable, and Sobus reports that it dissolved into mush in water. She does not recommend flushing it. In her words: “The litter is flushable as well, although due to the risks associated with flushing cat feces, I personally recommend against it.”
The review does not address local plumbing or wastewater rules, so check your own local guidance before disposing of used litter. Sealed household waste is the more cautious option the reviewer’s wording points toward.
Is it right for your cat and household?
Choose this litter if you have a manual box, a cat that urinates reliably in pellets, and a household that does not mind a noticeable sweet scent. It suits owners who want clumping, low dust and strong odor control and who can manage tracking with a mat and regular sweeping.
