Brodie Moss said a puffer fish bit his finger during a wildlife outing, prompting an emergency trip to hospital and a months-long break from posting. In a return message reported by PerthNow on 7 July 2025, he described the absence as a “cheeky mental break” and said he was back. The report does not establish his exact diagnosis or any lasting effects.
Why was Brodie Moss absent from social media?
Moss attributed his hiatus to an encounter with a puffer fish while he was in the water. PerthNow reported on 7 July 2025 that, in footage Moss shared, he helped the fish back into deeper water and then swam close behind it. The fish bit his finger. Moss rushed to shore and went to hospital; later footage showed him swimming with a bandage. PerthNow’s account of Moss’s return attributes the explanation to his video and post.

The report documents the bite and hospital visit, but it does not give an independently verified clinical diagnosis or a definitive account of how much tissue was lost. Moss’s shocked reaction in the video should not be treated as confirmation of a specific medical outcome.
What did Moss say when he returned?
Moss apologized for going missing and described his time away as a “cheeky mental break.” PerthNow reported that his return message included: “Just watching and enjoying is all I need from you all.” He also wrote: “finger or not, I am back babyy”. Who is Brodie Moss?
Moss is known for online wildlife and adventure content. An ABC News profile published in 2019 described him making camping, fishing, diving and wildlife videos around Western Australia’s coast, after leaving his electrician job to focus on video creation. ABC reported that he then had 1 million YouTube fans, a historical figure that should not be compared directly with PerthNow’s differently dated 2025 social-media follower count. ABC News’s 2019 profile of Moss provides that career background.
