The phrase self-cleaning needs careful interpretation. The roller is intended to automate transfer of collected hair into the bin; it does not mean the entire appliance cleans, disinfects or replaces its filters without attention. Dreame Australia reports a 99.5% hair-collection rate in a 30 m² test chamber containing two pet cats. The unit ran in Pet Mode for seven days; the company says 2.582 g of hair was found in the bin and 0.014 g remained inside the unit. This is a Dreame product-page disclosure from 2026, not an independent household measurement. The chamber area, controlled duration and specified mode matter: a different room, shedding pattern, floor covering or operating schedule could produce a different result. The surfaced specification does not establish that those percentages apply to every cat odor, litter-box plume or room volume. Treat them as manufacturer-reported chamber results, not an independent guarantee that normal household odors will vanish.
Carbon performance also depends on how much sorbent is present, the compound involved, airflow and saturation. A purifier cannot replace litter-box cleaning, ventilation or removal of soiled bedding. If odor control is your priority, inspect the replacement-filter design and confirm that the carbon layer is part of the replacement assembly available in your region.

Interpreting the 350 m³/h PCADR
PCADR is a useful comparison point because it expresses particle-cleaning airflow rather than relying on a vague room-size claim. To use it, compare the FP10’s listed rate with the air volume of the room where it will run. A high ceiling, open-plan layout or several connected spaces increases the volume that must be treated. - Use Smart mode for variable conditions. Dreame says Smart mode adjusts fan speed according to detected air quality. This is useful when cooking, cleaning litter or opening windows causes changing particle loads.
- Select Pet Mode when you want the roller cycle. Dreame describes Pet Mode as running the moving hair-collection mechanism on a timed cycle. Confirm the cycle behavior in your app because software settings can be revised.
- Check the bin instead of waiting for a warning. A full or tangled chamber can limit the benefit of the hair system. Empty it on a schedule matched to your cats’ shedding and inspect for clumps around the roller.
- Record what changes in your room. If allergies or odor are the reason for buying, note litter-box timing, ventilation and fan mode alongside your observations. That prevents you from attributing every change to the purifier alone.
Maintenance: what is washable and what is not
Pre-filter

Before purchase, verify that a compatible composite or HEPA replacement is sold in your country and check its current price. The two-year figure is a stated lifespan, not a promise that every household can wait exactly that long. Heavy shedding, smoke, construction dust and continuous high-speed use can change service needs.

Does the FP10 make sense for a two-cat home?
