Duck liver pictures fall into three useful categories: photographs showing the liver in the body cavity, views of the isolated organ, and microscope images of liver tissue. The examples below come from studies of Muscovy and Pekin ducks, plus a USGS disease-pathology collection; they should not be treated as a cross-species comparison.
Gross anatomy: where the liver sits and what it looks like
A Muscovy duck anatomy study provides both an in-place view and photographs of the liver itself. Its body-cavity image shows the liver in relation to the heart, gizzard, and trachea. The study also shows parietal and visceral views, labeling the right and left lobes and, in the visceral view, the gall bladder. See the figures and captions in the Muscovy duck study.

Use the in-place image to orient the organ within the body cavity; use the isolated-organ views to inspect its surfaces and labeled lobes. Captions that name the species and view make the pictures more useful than an unlabeled photograph.

Muscovy duck: lobules and central vein
The Muscovy study includes an H&E-stained liver section at 40×, labeled to show liver lobules and a central vein. Those details make it a useful example for connecting the tissue image with basic structural labels. The stain and magnification belong to this particular figure, not to duck liver slides generally. See the study’s figure captions.
#1 Best Overall
- This product is a duck part, a total of 6 pieces. After being put together, it will be an anatomical model of a duck, which is helpful for understanding the composition and structure of a duck.
- The size of the yellow duck is 9.5*7.8*8cm/3.7*3*3.1in, and the weight is 00.3kg/0.66lb. It is very realistic and beautiful, and it is convenient for veterinarians to study.
- Our models are made of plastic, so they are not easily damaged, while the colors are bright and beautiful, lightweight and not easy to fade.
- Translucent design, the internal structure is clear at a glance Adopting the median incision anatomical structure, a rare auxiliary tool in actual combat
- Accurate models with vivid details.
Pekin duck: tissue and portal-region structures
A 2026 study of Pekin ducks captions tissue images showing the central vein, hepatic cords, sinusoids, Kupffer cells, and endothelial cells. A separate transverse section labels branches of the portal vein, hepatic artery, bile duct, and lymphatic vessel. Consult the Pekin duck paper for the images and their original captions.
When comparing microscope pictures, retain the source’s stain and magnification wherever provided. The cited descriptions establish those details for the Muscovy H&E section at 40×, but do not establish equivalent stain or magnification information for every Pekin image.

Disease pathology is not normal liver anatomy
The USGS collection shows gross photographs and photomicrographs of an exotic duck with avian tuberculosis. Its description reports multifocal liver nodules and granulomas. These are disease-associated lesions, not examples of normal duck liver appearance. Keep that distinction explicit when using the pictures for teaching or identification. The USGS page marks its images as public domain.

- To locate the liver: choose an in-place gross-anatomy image with nearby organs identified, such as the Muscovy study’s view showing the heart, gizzard, and trachea.
- To study lobes and surfaces: choose an isolated-organ photograph whose caption identifies the view and labels the lobes; the Muscovy study also labels the gall bladder in its visceral view.
- To examine tissue: choose a histology micrograph with its species, stain, magnification, and structural labels preserved where the source provides them.
- To show disease: use the USGS avian-tuberculosis images only with a clear pathology label, rather than alongside normal anatomy without explanation.
A general duck anatomy guide also advertises labeled external and internal diagrams, which can help orient readers before they examine liver-specific photographs. For broader bird anatomy illustrations, Avian Anatomy, Textbook and Colour Atlas, 2nd edition, is identified as an illustrated reference, though duck-specific coverage and current retail availability are not established here: reference listing.

Species, captions and image reuse
The anatomical and histological examples described here are from particular Muscovy and Pekin duck studies; they do not establish that every duck species has identical pictured features. Name the duck type and identify whether an image is an in-place view, isolated organ, histology, or pathology example.
Before republishing an image, check its rights and follow the original caption and attribution requirements. The USGS page explicitly identifies its images as public domain, but the cited study search results do not establish reuse permissions for their figures.
