Staff had contained the snake behind cardboard boxes at the Mumbai Rocks food-court venue before Furstenberg retrieved it. He later released it in bushland near the airport. Furstenberg told 6PR: “I’ve been doing this for 10 years, and this is a first for me.” PerthNow’s report and 6PR’s account describe the retrieval.

How did the dugite get inside?
The reports do not establish how the snake entered the shopping centre. Furstenberg speculated that nearby bushland and a loading dock might have provided a route, but that explanation was not confirmed. The entry point remains unknown.
