Petmate describes the Replendish as a gravity-fed waterer: as a pet drinks from the base, water flows from the reservoir to refill the bowl. The product page also describes a charcoal filter. The available evidence does not establish that one version performs better than another.
Cleaning the waterer
Petmate says the standard base is dishwasher safe, but the bottle is not. Clean the bottle with a bottle brush and warm, soapy water. Petmate also instructs owners to remove the filter’s plastic before use. Follow the instructions for the exact model you own.
