The seventh Paris Sausage Walk took place on Sunday, 4 October 2026, on the Champs-Élysées. The free, dog-friendly walk supported Teckels Sans Doux Foyer, a dachshund rescue association, and promoted responsible adoption and animal welfare. Organizers published a 1.4 km round-trip route and a walk time of 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; no verified 2026 fundraising total has been reported.
What was the Paris Sausage Walk?
The Paris Sausage Walk was a charitable community walk centered on dachshunds. Its seventh edition took place on the Champs-Élysées, with the stated purpose of supporting Teckels Sans Doux Foyer and drawing attention to responsible adoption and animal welfare. The event was open to all and admission was free, according to Paris je t’aime’s event listing.
The walk began at the Arc de Triomphe end of the avenue, continued toward the Rond-Point des Champs-Élysées, and returned along the route. The published round trip was 1.4 km. Participants were asked to arrive from 10 a.m.; the walk was scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Who did the walk support?
The beneficiary was Teckels Sans Doux Foyer, an association that rescues dachshunds who have been abandoned or mistreated, provides care, and helps them find homes. The association says it accepts dogs of different ages and health conditions, provides medical treatment and sterilization, and works on resocialization before placing a dog with a family.

Teckels Sans Doux Foyer says it has welcomed dachshunds for more than 19 years, a duration stated by the association in its 2026 event message. Its guiding principle is to find “the right dog for the right family” and the right family for each dog.
How did the event promote responsible adoption?
The association presented adoption as a considered decision and a family commitment, not an impulse. Its event statement described its mission as matching dogs and families carefully, and said adoption should be “a considered act, a family project in its own right.” An administrator’s pre-event forum post likewise described the walk as focused on responsible adoption and animal welfare.

Was money raised, and how much?
The event was promoted as charitable and benefited Teckels Sans Doux Foyer, but a verified final fundraising total is not available. A post-event report confirms that the walk took place; it does not provide a substantiated proceeds figure or final organizer accounting. It is not possible to state how much the 2026 walk raised.

How does the walk fit into the event’s history?
The organizer’s HelloAsso page says the Paris Sausage Walk began in 2018, created by a Parisian dog enthusiast with dachshunds Lafayette and Napoléon, and describes it as volunteer-run and charitable. For the seventh edition, organizers moved the walk from its previous Seine-side setting to the Champs-Élysées and partnered with the Comité Champs-Élysées, according to advance coverage by Time Out Paris.
Past turnout figures should not be mistaken for 2026 attendance. La Clé Publique reported 137 dachshunds at the 2018 walk and more than 2,500 dogs at the 2025 edition. Those figures describe earlier events; no attendance count for the 2026 walk is established here.
