The collar lists at $299 in the US, and the cellular, GPS and telehealth services it depends on come with a subscription and a first-term commitment. The health claims are PetPace’s own. We found no independent, cat-specific accuracy testing for V3.0 in the sources available for this review, so treat the monitoring claims as marketing claims until you see evidence that fits your cat.
Does the PetPace collar monitor a cat’s health?
PetPace describes V3.0 as a smart health collar designed for cats. Its product page says the collar collects vital signs, activity, sleep and behavior data continuously. Whether that data is accurate enough to act on, and whether it changes health outcomes, are separate questions. Neither has been answered by independent cat-specific data that we could locate. The sections below separate what PetPace says the device does from what has been independently shown.
What PetPace says the collar measures
According to PetPace’s official explainer on the V3.0 cat collar, the device is designed to record the following:
- Temperature, pulse, respiration and heart-rate variability (HRV). These are the vital signs PetPace emphasizes most. The company’s launch announcement argues that activity data alone cannot show what is happening inside the body.
- Activity and sleep. PetPace says basic summaries of both are available from the first day.
- Behavior. The product page lists behavior monitoring as a continuous feature.
- GPS location. Location is listed as available from the first day, alongside basic activity and sleep.
The explainer also lists Apple Watch compatibility and an “Epilepsy Program (Beta).” Neither is explained in enough detail to rely on. The launch announcement describes seizure-event monitoring in epileptic dogs, not cats, so do not assume the epilepsy program applies to your cat unless PetPace confirms it for cats in writing.

What the subscription pays for
The collar is only part of the purchase. PetPace’s US cat product page says the subscription includes:
- Cellular data and GPS services
- Near-real-time vital signs and behavior monitoring
- Instant health alerts
- Unlimited 24/7 access to veterinarians
The same page uses the phrase “free 24/7 telemedicine.” That phrase appears alongside required subscription options, so read it as a service included in the subscription, not as evidence that the whole system carries no recurring cost. Without a subscription, the collar’s cellular, GPS and telehealth functions do not work on the terms PetPace lists.
Prices at the time of writing
PetPace’s US page lists a $299 collar price. The totals below are the listed subscription prices added to the collar price. They exclude tax and shipping, which the page does not include in the figures shown.

The page also shows euro and Canadian-dollar prices and lists availability in the US, Canada and Europe. We have not reproduced those amounts because currency conversion and regional terms can change. Prices and promotions change often, so confirm the figures on the product page before you buy.
How long before the data becomes useful?
PetPace says the collar begins working right away with basic activity summaries, sleep quality and GPS location. Its more advanced personalized AI analytics take 12 weeks to unlock, because the collar builds a baseline for the individual pet during that period. Treat that timeline as PetPace’s description of its onboarding. It is not an independently measured learning curve, and it does not say how well the analytics perform once they are active.

PetPace’s V3 cat quick-start guide lists a health collar, a charger cable and a USB power adapter in the box. Before you start, confirm that you have:

- Bluetooth turned on for the phone you will set up with.
- The collar connected to its charger for the whole setup process.
To fit the collar:
- Place the electronics box at the front of your cat’s neck.
- Pull the strap until two fingers fit between the collar and the neck.
The guide gives these neck-size ranges:

The ranges overlap, so measure your cat’s neck rather than choosing by weight or breed. The materials we reviewed do not establish how comfortable the collar is across cat breeds or body types, so the fit check is the only comfort guidance available.
Battery, connectivity and water resistance

- Battery: a rechargeable 3.8 V, 520 mAh lithium battery. PetPace describes it as non-replaceable, so plan for the collar’s full lifespan rather than a battery swap.
- Charging and runtime: PetPace says a full charge takes about two hours and estimates up to three weeks per charge. It warns that actual battery life varies with connectivity and with which health programs are active.
- Connectivity: GPS, Bluetooth 4.2 BLE, 4G LTE Cat-M1 and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
- Water ratings: IP66 and IP68 are both listed on the product page.
The quick-start guide describes the IP68 rating as water resistance in fresh water to a maximum depth of 1.5 m for up to 30 minutes, and says to dry the collar before charging. That is narrower than a blanket promise of water resistance, so do not assume the collar is suitable for swimming, salt water or rough play.

Evidence: what is claimed and what has not been shown
PetPace’s launch announcement says its technology has been validated through more than ten years of clinical research. The announcement does not link that research to V3.0’s measurements of temperature, pulse, respiration or HRV in cats, and we did not find an independent, cat-specific study of the collar’s accuracy. The company’s statements about early detection, clinical-grade monitoring and any pain-related scoring should be read as PetPace’s assertions, not as established results.
PetPace’s co-founder and Chief Veterinary Scientist, Dr. Asaf Dagan, DVM, is quoted in the launch announcement:
“Activity alone is insufficient for assessing health,” says Dr. Asaf Dagan, DVM, Co-founder and Chief Veterinary Scientist. “Only real-time physiological data—like temperature, pulse, heart rate variability, and respiration—can accurately reveal what’s happening inside the animal’s body. Who this collar may suit, and who should look elsewhere
The collar may be worth considering if you:
- Want location tracking and continuous data, and accept a recurring subscription to get them.
- Have a veterinarian who is willing to review data shared from the collar.
- Can keep your cat comfortable in a collar and have a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network for setup.
It may not be the right purchase if you:
- Need independent, cat-specific accuracy evidence before you rely on the data.
- Want to avoid recurring costs or battery replacement.
- Expect an alert or telemedicine session to replace a veterinary examination. PetPace presents alerts and vet access as services, not as diagnoses. If your cat shows signs of illness, contact your own veterinarian.
