Confirm the policy, total charges and room availability for your exact dates directly with the hotel before booking; the list was updated January 5, 2026, and some terms below come from a local guide rather than a current official hotel policy.

Choose by your pet’s size, species and supervision needs
If your dog is large
Sonesta’s official page says it has no weight restriction, while Sofitel sets a combined 60-pound limit for up to two pets. The Four Seasons listing is specifically for dogs up to 25 pounds; the Aloft package is for one dog under 40 pounds, and Club Quarters’ reported amenities apply to one dog under 50 pounds. These are different eligibility rules, not interchangeable definitions of “pet-friendly.” Ask about your pet’s weight and breed, and clarify whether a limit applies to each animal or to their combined weight.

If you are traveling with a cat or more than one pet
The January 2026 Philadelphia hotel guide’s reported offers for the Four Seasons, Club Quarters and Aloft are dog-specific. Sonesta’s official policy allows up to two pets per suite, and Sofitel’s allows up to two pets subject to the combined weight cap. Visit Philadelphia reports multiple pets allowed at Kimpton Hotel Monaco, but confirm the current count and whether cats are included. For the other properties, ask whether cats and multiple animals are accepted before booking.

If your pet cannot be left alone
Sofitel’s official policy says pets must not be left unattended in the room and must be accompanied when staff enter. If your plans require your pet to stay in the room, ask the hotel what its rule permits and whether pet-care services can be arranged. Visit Philadelphia says pet-sitting, grooming and walking services can be arranged through Wag! at Kimpton properties; confirm the service, availability and terms with the hotel and provider.
Work out the full pet charge before paying
Ask whether the fee is per night or per stay, whether it changes with the length of the visit, and whether a separate refundable deposit or cleaning charge applies. The two official fee examples in this list are both per stay: Sonesta reports $75, and Sofitel reports a non-refundable $75. The local guide reports other “no fee” and package claims; those claims are not stated as current official policies for every property.
Rank #2
For context, the Bellevue’s official policy describes a $100 one-time cleaning fee for stays up to six nights and asks guests staying longer to call. That is a separate hotel example, not one of the ten listed above; it illustrates why a longer stay can have different terms. Do not assume the ten properties use the same fee structure.

- Room and floor access: Ask whether your booked room type or floor accepts pets. The Windsor Suites listing notes leash and hotel-area restrictions but does not identify the restricted spaces.
- Public spaces: Sofitel requires pets to be leashed or carried in public areas. Ask about restaurants, shared spaces and outdoor relief access at your chosen hotel.
- Hotel-provided gear: Beds and bowls appear in several reported amenity bundles, but availability and request procedures differ. Ask what is included and whether it must be reserved.
- Walks and relief areas: Match the hotel’s location to your itinerary and ask staff about nearby suitable walking and relief areas. Visit Philadelphia’s guide points to parks and walk areas near some properties.
- Exact stay dates: Confirm that the property accepts your pet in the room you intend to book and that any package or amenity is offered for those dates.
How to verify a hotel’s policy
- Choose the property and room type, then check availability for your exact dates.
- Contact the hotel directly with your pet’s species, number of animals, breed and weight. Ask whether any weight limit is individual or combined.
- Confirm the total pet charge, how it is assessed, and any cleaning or damage charges or length-of-stay conditions.
- Ask about unattended-pet rules, staff entry, leash or carrier requirements, restricted floors and public spaces.
- Confirm which beds, bowls, bags or other services are included and whether they need to be requested or reserved.
- Keep the hotel’s confirmation with your booking details so you can refer to the agreed terms.
Where this shortlist comes from
The ten names come from a Philadelphia hotel guide updated January 5, 2026. Visit Philadelphia provides additional local hotel and amenity descriptions, while Sonesta and Sofitel publish current official pet policies for two of these ten hotels. Marriott advises that pet rules, fees and allowances vary by property and recommends checking the hotel’s own website. The list is not exhaustive: Visit Philadelphia’s guide covers a broader set of options, and hotel directories can change.
