Pollinator Week is an annual event organized by Pollinator Partnership to support pollinator health and help people find practical ways to protect pollinators. The 2026 event ran June 22–28 and has passed; the next dates currently listed by the organizer are June 21–27, 2027.
What is Pollinator Week?
Pollinator Partnership initiated and manages Pollinator Week, an annual celebration focused on pollinator health. The organization says the event began in 2007, when it worked to secure unanimous U.S. Senate approval for a week in June designated as National Pollinator Week. Participation has since expanded to activities throughout Pollinator Month and around the world. Pollinator Partnership’s event page describes the event and its current dates.

How can you celebrate Pollinator Week?
Activities can be in person or virtual, and can be open to the public or private. Pollinator Partnership suggests options for individuals, schools, community groups, and organizations:
- Plant for pollinators, choosing species suited to your location and the pollinators you want to support.
- Host a garden tour or take part in an online bee- or butterfly-identification workshop.
- Organize an educational activity for children, share event posters, or use the organizer’s toolkit.
- Look for local proclamations and building lightings connected with the week.
To make an activity discoverable, register it on the Pollinator Partnership event page, which includes an activity map.

A related partner program
The Electric Power Research Institute and Pollinator Partnership also present the Pollinator Power Party during Pollinator Week. Its 2026 program ran June 22–26 and included a community bioblitz. This is a related partner program, not the entirety of Pollinator Week. See the Pollinator Power Party website for its program information.
What was the 2026 educational focus?
The 2026 poster, “Life on a Leaf: Celebrating Caterpillars and Host Plants,” drew attention to a part of pollinator conservation that can be overlooked: many butterflies and moths need particular plants during their life cycles. Pollinator Partnership says hundreds of North American Lepidoptera species rely on one or two specific plants for reproduction; the source page does not state a publication year for this figure. The organizer encourages planting native host plants in their native habitat, including in home gardens, roadside areas, municipal spaces, farms, and corporate gardens. The Pollinator Week page links to the 2026 materials.

Choose plants for your region
There is no single seed mix that is right for every garden. Native plant suitability depends on where you live and which pollinators you hope to support. Look for native host plants appropriate to your local habitat rather than choosing a mix solely because it is marketed for pollinators.
