Yams, a rescue dog described as a pitty mix, rode through a car wash while watching the colored lights and water around the car. DogTime reports that the reel came from Instagram account @ham.and.yams, whose caption summed up the outing: “I think she likes car washes.”
What happens in Yams’s car-wash video?
In DogTime’s October 5, 2026 report, Yams rides through the wash with her person and looks at the shifting lights and streams of water outside the vehicle. On-screen text describes the outing as “New hobby: Taking my rescue pup to places she’s probably never been before.”
The moment is presented as a small discovery: a dog watching an unfamiliar scene unfold from inside the car. The report does not establish whether Yams had visited a car wash before, so the idea that this was entirely new to her comes from the post’s wording rather than a documented history.
How people responded to the clip
DogTime includes a few positive comments, among them “That face!” and “We were very intrigued by the car wash too!” They capture the playful tone of the responses quoted in the article, but they are selected examples—not a measure of the audience’s overall reaction. The report gives no view, like, or follower counts.

What the video does—and does not—tell us
Yams’s apparent interest makes for a sweet moment, but one short outing cannot show how rescue dogs, pitty mixes, or dogs generally react to car washes. The report also does not describe the wash’s safety conditions or include veterinary or behaviorist guidance. It is best read as a feel-good anecdote about one dog’s reported outing, not as a recommendation to take dogs through car washes.
