Similar-looking products were still being sold through online retailers at that time, so a product disappearing from one marketplace should not be treated as evidence that the underlying design has been withdrawn everywhere.

When reading a manual, look for concrete operating limits rather than reassuring adjectives. A useful manual should explain where the detection zone is, how long the box waits before a cleaning cycle, what happens after a power interruption, how the unit signals an error, and how to disable automatic operation. It should also state whether a cat can enter while a cycle is starting and what the owner must do after a jam or obstruction. If those instructions are missing or vague, treat that lack of information as a reason to investigate further—not as proof that the product is dangerous.
If you own an Amztoy box or a similar door design
