Which formula may suit your priorities?
Choose paper pellets if low dust and reduced tracking matter most
The review describes the paper formula as 95% post-consumer paper with odor-controlling ingredients. Its low dust and limited tracking may appeal if those are your main concerns. The trade-off is maintenance: the pellets do not clump, and the reviewer found them awkward to remove with a standard litter scoop. A wide-slot scoop designed for pellets is a practical option to consider.

Consider non-clumping crystals if you are comfortable with stirring
The reviewer found that the silica crystals absorbed liquid quickly and controlled odor, but said urine odor became noticeable after five or six days when the crystals had not been stirred. The reported crackling sound when liquid hit the litter is also worth considering if your cat or household is sensitive to noise.
Consider clumping micro crystals if clumps are important
Of the three products reviewed, this one received the highest overall rating. The reviewer reported minimal dust and good odor control, including in a multi-cat household, but also noted tracking and clumps that could break apart during scooping. The score does not mean it will suit every cat or household.

Comments on the Cats.com review raise concerns about odor, dust, clumping, and possible product changes. One commenter questioned the need for a new review in a comment dated September 29, 2023. Another, commenting April 5, 2026, said they believed baking soda was absent from a paper litter despite the bag label. These are individual reports, not confirmation of a reformulation or evidence of how common a problem is.
