There is no universally airline-approved pet carrier: the operating airline and your exact itinerary determine what is accepted. Choose a soft-sided carrier for an eligible pet traveling in the cabin, or a rigid kennel that meets the airline’s separate requirements for cargo; size either one around your animal’s usable interior space, not just the advertised exterior dimensions.

Sleepypod also reports Center for Pet Safety certification and crash testing for pets up to 18 pounds. This is a vehicle-safety claim, not evidence that an airline will accept the carrier. Sleepypod markets the Air for cabin travel, but the airline’s rules and the pet’s fit still govern.
