For car trips, look for evidence—not just a strap
A strap that lets a seat belt secure a carrier is a restraint feature, not proof that the carrier has passed a crash test. Cats.com describes the Sleepypod Air as crash-tested and Center for Pet Safety certified. It also says the K&H Travel Safety Pet Carrier has not been crash-tested. Those are claims reported by the roundup; this article does not independently verify certification or testing.
Choose a car carrier according to the safety evidence you can verify for the exact model, rather than assuming all products with seat-belt attachments offer equivalent protection.

Cats.com says Liz Coleman researched carrier types and the market, then selected models for at-home testing with her two cats.
