Best overall: IAMS Proactive Health Adult Minichunks Lamb & Rice is a strong budget choice for a generally healthy adult dog. Lowest-cost mainstream option: Purina Dog Chow Complete Adult Chicken Flavor. Best step-up: Purina ONE Chicken & Rice.

This U.S.-focused list covers dry foods for generally healthy dogs. It prioritizes an appropriate AAFCO nutritional adequacy statement, life-stage fit, calories, manufacturer transparency, availability, and real cost—not simply the cheapest bag or the most appealing ingredient list. Prices and availability are snapshots checked August 9, 2026, and can vary by retailer, location, membership, bag size, shipping, promotions, and autoship.

Quick comparison

“Budget” means affordable complete nutrition, not necessarily the lowest shelf price. Price per pound is a starting point; cost per 1,000 calories is a fairer comparison because calorie density and feeding amounts differ.

Food Best for Life stage Price snapshot Calories Main drawback
IAMS Proactive Health Adult Minichunks Lamb & Rice Best overall budget choice Adult maintenance NBC Select displayed $29.97, but the matching bag size was unclear; verify before buying 382 kcal/cup Adult formula; contains chicken-derived ingredients

Purina ONE Chicken & Rice Budget step-up Adult maintenance $48.98 for 31.1 lb; about $1.58/lb 383 kcal/cup on April 2026 label Costs more; webpage and newer label differ
Diamond Naturals Chicken & Rice All Life Stages Value all-life-stages formula All life stages $46.99 for 40 lb; about $1.18/lb Verify current bag Feeding still depends on life stage
Kirkland Signature Adult Chicken, Rice & Vegetable Costco members Adult maintenance $37.10 for 40 lb through Costco Same-Day; out of stock in accessed location 393 kcal/cup Membership and local availability required
IAMS Proactive Health Large Breed Adult Lamb & Rice Large-breed adults Large-breed adult maintenance $46.97 for 30 lb; about $1.57/lb Verify current bag Not a large-breed puppy formula
IAMS Proactive Health Smart Puppy Chicken Small- and medium-breed puppies Puppy growth 15-lb price varies; verify at purchase Verify current bag Do not assume it suits every large-breed puppy

How these foods were selected

1. Complete-and-balanced nutrition comes first

A food for everyday feeding should carry a nutritional adequacy statement for the dog’s life stage. This indicates whether it is intended to be complete and balanced rather than a treat, topper, or supplement. AAFCO explains how to read this statement.

“Adult maintenance,” “growth,” and “all life stages” are not interchangeable. Adult-maintenance food is not the right default for a growing puppy. Large-breed puppies need food whose adequacy statement specifically covers growth of large-size dogs. All-life-stages food is formulated for growth and maintenance, but feeding directions may differ substantially by age.

AAFCO does not approve or certify individual pet-food products. A food carries an AAFCO nutritional adequacy statement or is substantiated through an AAFCO-recognized nutrient profile or feeding protocol. AAFCO’s FAQ explains the distinction.

2. Cost was assessed by calories, not just pounds

A large bag can look inexpensive while providing fewer calories per pound, and a costlier food can cost less per day if the dog needs a smaller portion. Calculate: bag price divided by total calories in the bag, multiplied by 1,000. If the label gives bag weight, grams per cup, and calories per cup, calculate total calories as bag weight in grams divided by grams per cup, multiplied by kcal per cup.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Also consider shipping, membership fees, expiring discounts, autoship pricing, treats, food waste, storage, and whether the dog maintains a healthy body condition.

3. Ingredient lists were treated as evidence, not a scorecard

Ingredients are listed by weight, but that order does not show ingredient quality, digestibility, nutrient availability, or the manufacturer’s quality-control system. Meat meals and by-products can be concentrated nutrient sources. Corn, wheat, rice, and soy are not automatically inappropriate for dogs.

The World Small Animal Veterinary Association’s nutrition guidance recommends asking manufacturers about qualified nutritionists, formulation, manufacturing, quality control, nutrient testing, and feeding trials instead of judging food solely by terms such as “meat first,” “natural,” “no fillers,” or “human-grade.”

4. Availability matters

A food is not a practical budget choice if it is regularly unavailable, sold only through expensive delivery, or offered in a bag too large to use before it becomes stale. Costco food may be a good value for a member with local stock, but warehouse, website, and Same-Day prices and availability can differ.

The 8 best budget dog foods of 2026

1. IAMS Proactive Health Adult Minichunks Lamb & Rice: best overall budget food

Best for: Generally healthy small- and medium-sized adult dogs whose owners want a middle ground between ultra-cheap grocery foods and premium-priced diets.

Life stage: Adult maintenance.

Label facts: Accessible details list approximately 382 kcal per cup, 25% minimum crude protein, and 14% minimum crude fat. IAMS identifies lamb as the first ingredient; the food uses smaller kibble and includes prebiotic fiber. It carries an adult-maintenance complete-and-balanced claim. See the IAMS product page and retailer label details.

Why it ranks first: It combines broad retail availability, a moderate price tier, small kibble, a clear adult-life-stage purpose, and useful label information. NBC Select also named IAMS Proactive Health Minichunks its budget-friendly dry-food pick in its 2026 roundup, though its accessible price display did not make the matching bag size clear.

Trade-offs: “Lamb first” does not mean single-protein or chicken-free. The ingredient list includes chicken by-product meal, chicken fat, and chicken meal. Dogs with confirmed chicken allergy or on a veterinarian-directed elimination diet should not be switched casually.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Who should skip it: Puppies, large-breed puppies, dogs needing therapeutic diets, and dogs sensitive to an ingredient. It is not automatically right for weight management, kidney, urinary, or other medical nutrition.

2. Purina Dog Chow Complete Adult Chicken Flavor: cheapest mainstream option

Best for: Owners needing a low-cost, widely distributed dry food for a healthy adult dog, while monitoring the individual dog.

Rank #2
Pedigree Adult Complete Nutrition Dry Dog Food, Chicken & Vegetable, 3.5 lb
  • Pedigree Goodness Promise: Every bowl of this dry dog food serves 100% complete adult nutrition supporting 6 health essentials, including digestion, immunity, skin & coat, heart, strong bones, and dental care
  • Vitamin Goodbites: Pedigree Adult Dry Dog Food Roasted Chicken & Vegetable Flavor recipe includes Vitamin Goodbites pieces with elevated levels of essential vitamins for a nutrient boost your dog will love
  • Highly Digestible Dog Food Recipe: Pedigree Adult Dry Dog Food Roasted Chicken & Vegetable Flavor provides prebiotic fiber to support healthy digestion
  • Supports Healthy Immunity: This Pedigree dog kibble recipe is fortified with vitamins and minerals to support a healthy immune system
  • High-Quality Pet Food: Pedigree dry dog food is a high-quality dog food recipe that provides protein to support strong muscles, including the heart

Life stage: Adult maintenance.

Price snapshot: Chewy listed 44 lb at $30.49 on August 9, 2026—about $0.70 per pound. Purina lists bag sizes from 4.4 to 48 lb, including 44 lb, on its product page. Retail prices change.

Label facts: Complete and balanced for adult dogs, approximately 405 kcal per cup, with an 8-ounce cup weighing about 116 grams. Current ingredient information includes corn, soy, animal by-products, artificial colors, and garlic oil. Those may not suit an owner’s preferences, but their presence alone does not establish that the finished food is nutritionally inadequate or unsafe. Check the current label PDF.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Real calorie cost: A 44-lb bag contains approximately 69,700 kcal using the listed cup weight and calorie density. At $30.49, that is about $0.44 per 1,000 kcal before tax or shipping.

Trade-offs: This is adult food, not puppy food, and low cost does not make it right for every dog. Monitor stool quality, appetite, skin and coat, body condition, and weight.

3. Pedigree Complete Nutrition Adult Roasted Chicken & Vegetable: best ultra-budget alternative

Best for: Owners needing low-cost food available through ordinary grocery, mass-market, and online retailers.

Life stage: Adult maintenance.

What the manufacturer says: Pedigree describes this formula as complete and balanced for adult dogs and lists prebiotic fiber, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, omega-6 fatty acids, and zinc. It says the food is made in the United States with ingredients sourced from around the world. See the current product page.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Price caution: An older 40-lb Chewy listing showed $25.97 and noted a new version was available. A current 44-lb Roasted Chicken & Vegetable variant with bacon-flavored bites showed $35.98. Do not carry the older price into a current comparison; inspect the bag name, ingredients, calorie statement, and adequacy statement. Compare the older listing with the current variant.

Trade-offs: This lower-cost food is built around grains, plant ingredients, animal fat, and meat-and-bone meal. Those ingredients do not by themselves make it inappropriate, but it is not equivalent to a veterinary therapeutic diet or best for every dog. Verify the current bag because retailer pages may describe an older formula.

4. Purina ONE Chicken & Rice Formula: best budget step-up

Best for: Owners willing to spend more than ultra-budget prices for a mainstream food with manufacturer support, broad availability, and feeding-trial information on the current label.

Life stage: Adult maintenance.

Price snapshot: Chewy listed 31.1 lb at $48.98, approximately $1.58 per pound.

Label facts: A Purina label PDF dated April 2026 lists 26% minimum crude protein, 16% minimum crude fat, and 383 kcal per cup. It states AAFCO feeding tests substantiate complete and balanced adult-maintenance nutrition. The label lists chicken, rice, corn protein meal, whole-grain corn, chicken by-product meal, and whole-grain wheat among the first ingredients. See the April 2026 label PDF and retailer listing.

Important calorie discrepancy: Purina’s product webpage displays 360 kcal per cup, while the newer April 2026 label PDF displays 383 kcal per cup. Use the calorie statement on the physical bag; do not combine an older webpage figure with a newer label for cost or feeding calculations.

Real calorie cost: Using the 31.1-lb bag, 95 grams per cup, and 383 kcal per cup from the April 2026 label gives approximately 56,900 kcal per bag. At $48.98, that is about $0.86 per 1,000 kcal.

What the higher price does—and does not—mean: Purina ONE is not “twice as healthy” because it costs more. Its case is formulation and quality-assurance infrastructure, label transparency, feeding-trial substantiation on the current label, and availability. It is not limited-ingredient or hypoallergenic food.

Pedigree Adult Complete Nutrition Dry Dog Food, Steak & Vegetable, 18 lb
  • Pedigree Goodness Promise: Every bowl of this dry dog food serves up to 100% complete adult nutrition supporting 6 health essentials, including digestion, immunity, skin & coat, heart, strong bones, and dental care
  • Vitamin Goodbites: Pedigree Adult Dry Dog Food Grilled Steak & Vegetable Flavor recipe includes Vitamin Goodbites pieces with elevated levels of essential vitamins for a nutrient boost your dog will love
  • Highly Digestible Dog Food Recipe: Pedigree Adult Dry Dog Food Grilled Steak & Vegetable Flavor provides prebiotic fiber to support healthy digestion

5. Diamond Naturals Chicken & Rice Formula All Life Stages: best value all-life-stages option

Best for: Households wanting one all-life-stages formula with reliable access.

Life stage: All life stages, subject to checking the current bag’s exact adequacy statement and feeding directions.

Price snapshot: Chewy listed 40 lb at $46.99, approximately $1.18 per pound.

What is verified: The retailer identifies the formula as all life stages and all breeds. Diamond says its foods are formulated to be complete and balanced according to AAFCO guidelines. Its product range includes formulas with probiotics and added nutrients, but these features should not be presented as promises to prevent or treat disease. See the product listing and Diamond’s FAQ.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Trade-offs: All life stages does not mean every dog receives the same amount. Puppies, adults, pregnant dogs, seniors, and highly active dogs have different calorie needs and directions. Check the current bag’s exact AAFCO statement, calories, and instructions. Availability may be less consistent than other picks.

6. Kirkland Signature Adult Chicken, Rice & Vegetable: best Costco value

Best for: Costco members who can buy locally and whose adult dog does well on it.

Life stage: Adult maintenance.

Price snapshot: Costco Same-Day displayed $37.10 for 40 lb—about $0.93 per pound—but it was out of stock in the accessed location. Warehouse pricing, delivery pricing, and stock vary by region.

Label facts: Costco lists complete and balanced adult-maintenance nutrition, 26% minimum crude protein, 16% minimum crude fat, 4% maximum crude fiber, 10% maximum moisture, and approximately 393 kcal per cup. Product information lists chicken, rice, vegetables, probiotics, glucosamine, and chondroitin. See Costco product information and the Same-Day listing.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Trade-offs: Membership, warehouse distance, storage space, and local stock affect value. Same-Day delivery may cost more. Do not assume a house brand has the same research, testing, or manufacturing model as another company; compare the information each makes available.

7. IAMS Proactive Health Large Breed Adult Lamb & Rice: best budget large-breed adult formula

Best for: Healthy adult dogs needing a large-breed adult formula rather than a generic adult recipe.

Life stage: Large-breed adult maintenance.

Price snapshot: Chewy listed 30 lb at $46.97, approximately $1.57 per pound; a 40-lb listing was also shown at $60.49.

Product facts: IAMS identifies lamb as the first ingredient and says the formula contains natural sources of glucosamine and chondroitin. These ingredients do not mean the food treats arthritis or prevents orthopedic disease. IAMS says large-breed puppies expected to reach 51–90 lb should transition to this adult recipe at 18 months, while giant-breed puppies expected to exceed 90 lb should transition at 24 months. See the IAMS product page and price listing.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Trade-offs: This is not a large-breed puppy food, and it is not lamb-only. Chicken-derived proteins may be present. Owners managing a confirmed food allergy should use a veterinarian-directed diet rather than assume “lamb and rice” is hypoallergenic.

8. IAMS Proactive Health Smart Puppy Chicken: best budget puppy option researched

Best for: Small- and medium-breed puppies when the current bag’s growth statement matches their needs.

Rank #4

Kibbles 'n Bits Original Savory Beef & Chicken Flavor Dry Dog Food, 31 Pound Bag
  • Contains 1 - 31 Lb Bag of Kibbles 'n Bits Original Savory Beef & Chicken Flavor Dry Dog Food
  • 100% Complete and Balanced Nutrition for Adult Dogs
  • 23 Essential Vitamins and Minerals
  • Antioxidant Rich and Made in the USA
  • Savory Beef and Chicken Flavors

Life stage: Puppy growth; IAMS also describes it for pregnant or nursing dogs of all breed types.

Product facts: IAMS lists 3.3-, 7-, and 15-lb sizes. The formula includes omega-3 DHA and is described as complete and balanced for puppies. IAMS recommends a gradual four-day transition. See the IAMS Smart Puppy page.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Large-breed warning: The researched product page does not clearly establish suitability for every large-breed puppy. If the puppy is expected to weigh at least 70 lb as an adult, choose a food whose AAFCO statement specifically includes growth of large-size dogs and confirm with your veterinarian.

Price: The official page confirms sizes but not a stable nationwide price. Verify the current 15-lb price before purchase. Smaller bags cost more per pound but can reduce waste if a puppy is selective or outgrows a formula quickly.

Cheapest versus best value: what the numbers show

Dog Chow and Purina ONE illustrate why “best budget food” needs distinct use cases.

Food Bag and price Calories used Approximate cost per 1,000 kcal
Purina Dog Chow Complete Adult Chicken 44 lb for $30.49 405 kcal/cup; 116 g/cup; approximately 69,700 kcal/bag $0.44
Purina ONE Chicken & Rice 31.1 lb for $48.98 383 kcal/cup; 95 g/cup; approximately 56,900 kcal/bag $0.86

For a hypothetical dog eating 800 kcal per day, the difference is approximately $0.35 per day on Dog Chow versus $0.69 on Purina ONE, before tax, shipping, or treats. This is an example, not a feeding recommendation.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The higher price does not prove Purina ONE is universally superior, and the lower price does not prove Dog Chow is inadequate. Consider the dog’s needs, life-stage fit, response, and whether the added formulation and testing information is worth the cost.

How to choose among the eight

  • Healthy adult and lowest possible cost: Start with Purina Dog Chow Complete Adult. If your dog does not maintain good stool quality, appetite, or body condition, consider IAMS Minichunks, Purina ONE, or another appropriate food.
  • Very limited grocery-store budget: Pedigree Complete Nutrition Adult is an option to evaluate, but check the exact current SKU and label.
  • Healthy adult wanting a middle-tier upgrade: Choose IAMS Minichunks for smaller kibble or Purina ONE for its current feeding-trial substantiation and manufacturer information.
  • Costco member: Kirkland can be compelling if warehouse price and local stock are favorable. Compare warehouse and delivery pricing.
  • Large-breed adult: Choose IAMS Large Breed Adult or another food specifically labeled for large-breed adults—not a growing puppy.
  • Small- or medium-breed puppy: IAMS Smart Puppy is the puppy-specific option here, subject to checking the current adequacy statement.
  • Large-breed puppy: Use a formula whose AAFCO statement covers growth of large-size dogs. The standard IAMS Smart Puppy page is not sufficient evidence for every large-breed puppy.
  • Confirmed food allergy: Do not assume lamb-and-rice is hypoallergenic. Many lamb recipes contain chicken. Use a veterinarian-directed elimination or therapeutic diet.
  • Overweight dog: Portion and calorie intake matter more than switching brands at random. A weight-management formula may be appropriate.
  • Medical condition: Ask your veterinarian before choosing from a general budget list.

Is cheap dog food nutritionally adequate?

It can be. A low price does not automatically mean a food is unsafe, incomplete, or deficient. If it carries the appropriate complete-and-balanced statement and suits the dog’s life stage, it may be appropriate for that individual.

A high price does not guarantee suitability either. Premium marketing, an attractive ingredient list, “natural” wording, or the absence of corn and by-products cannot replace life-stage matching and nutritional adequacy.

What about corn, wheat, soy, by-products, and meat meal?

These ingredients are often treated as automatic warning signs, but that is too simplistic. Ingredients are listed by weight, and the list does not disclose every relevant aspect of the finished food. Meat meals and by-products can provide concentrated protein and other nutrients. Corn, wheat, rice, and soy can provide energy, protein, vitamins, minerals, or functional characteristics in a complete diet.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

“No fillers” is not a precise universal nutritional standard. Judge the finished product by its adequacy statement, calories, manufacturer transparency, quality controls, feeding directions, and the dog’s response. For a diagnosed allergy, the individual ingredient matters; ordinary label marketing is not a substitute for an elimination trial.

Should you choose grain-free?

For a general budget list, grain-inclusive food is a sensible default unless a veterinarian identifies a reason to avoid a particular ingredient.

The FDA’s public information on non-hereditary dilated cardiomyopathy says many reported diets contained pulses such as peas or lentils high in the ingredient list. It also says legumes are not inherently dangerous, reports involved grain-free and grain-containing diets, and the specific causal relationship remains unresolved. Read the FDA’s questions and answers.

This does not justify saying grain-free food always causes heart disease, that every grain-free food is dangerous, or that added taurine makes a questionable diet safe. Dogs with heart disease, suspected diet-associated DCM, or unusual diets should be evaluated by a veterinarian, potentially with a veterinary nutritionist.

How much should you feed?

Use the package feeding chart as a starting point, not a guarantee. AAFCO notes that feeding directions may need adjustment for an individual dog’s weight and condition.

  1. Measure the daily portion rather than free-feeding. A kitchen scale is more precise than a scoop when weight is difficult to control.
  2. Account for age, activity, sterilization status, body condition, and treats.
  3. Count table food, dental chews, training treats, and toppers in the daily calorie budget.
  4. Recheck weight and body condition two to four weeks after changing food.
  5. Adjust portions gradually based on the dog’s trend, not one day’s appetite.

Contact a veterinarian if the dog loses weight unexpectedly, gains despite measured portions, vomits, has persistent diarrhea, refuses food, or shows other health changes.

How to switch foods without avoidable stomach upset

A practical seven-day transition is:

  1. Days 1–2: 25% new food and 75% old food.
  2. Days 3–4: 50% new and 50% old.
  3. Days 5–6: 75% new and 25% old.
  4. Day 7 onward: 100% new food.

Use a slower transition for dogs with digestive-upset history, and follow product directions when they differ. Purina recommends seven to 10 days for Dog Chow, while IAMS gives a four-day transition for several products.

Mildly softer stool can occur during a change, but vomiting, severe diarrhea, blood in stool, lethargy, or refusal to eat should not be dismissed as normal. Contact a veterinarian.

How to read the bag before buying

  1. Find the nutritional adequacy statement. Confirm complete-and-balanced status and the correct life stage.
  2. Check whether it is adult maintenance, growth, or all life stages. For large-breed puppies, look specifically for growth of large-size dogs.
  3. Read the calorie statement. Use kcal per cup or kilogram to compare foods and portions.
  4. Read the feeding directions. They are a starting point and may differ by life stage and formula.
  5. Check the guaranteed analysis. Protein, fat, fiber, and moisture provide context but do not describe every nutrient.
  6. Inspect ingredients for known sensitivities. A lamb-first recipe may still contain chicken; ingredient order does not make a food hypoallergenic.
  7. Record the exact product and date. Note SKU, bag size, calories, adequacy statement, lot code, and best-by date.

When a general budget food is not appropriate

Ask your veterinarian before changing food if your dog has:

  • Kidney, urinary, liver, or heart disease
  • Diabetes, pancreatitis, or severe obesity
  • A suspected or confirmed food allergy
  • Chronic enteropathy, repeated vomiting, or persistent diarrhea
  • A need for a veterinary therapeutic diet
  • Pregnancy or nursing-related nutrition requirements
  • Large-breed puppy growth needs
  • Suspected diet-associated dilated cardiomyopathy
  • Medication use that could affect appetite, digestion, or nutrient requirements

A food can be complete and balanced for a healthy adult while inappropriate for a dog with a medical condition. A general internet list cannot prescribe a kidney, urinary, elimination, weight-management, or cardiac diet.

Storage and waste: the overlooked part of value

The biggest bag is not always the cheapest practical choice. If a small dog cannot finish it while fresh, the lower price per pound may be offset by waste or poor palatability.

  • Keep food in its original bag, ideally inside an airtight container.
  • Store it in a cool, dry place away from heat and humidity.
  • Wash and fully dry the container between bags.
  • Do not pour new food on top of old residue.
  • Buy the smallest practical bag first if the dog is selective or has not eaten the formula.

Final verdict

For a healthy adult dog, IAMS Proactive Health Adult Minichunks Lamb & Rice is the best overall balance of price, practical format, label information, and availability in this lineup. Purina Dog Chow Complete Adult is the cheapest mainstream benchmark, while Pedigree Complete Nutrition Adult is a widely available ultra-budget alternative. Consider Purina ONE Chicken & Rice if its formulation and feeding-trial information justify the added cost for your household.

Choose Kirkland Signature Adult when Costco access and local stock make the math work, IAMS Large Breed Adult for a large-breed adult, and IAMS Smart Puppy for a small- or medium-breed puppy after checking the growth statement. For large-breed puppies, allergies, obesity, chronic digestive problems, heart disease, or therapeutic-diet needs, involve your veterinarian.

FAQ

Can cheap dog food be healthy for dogs?

Yes. A low price does not automatically mean a food is incomplete or unsafe. Check that the exact bag carries an appropriate complete-and-balanced AAFCO nutritional adequacy statement, matches the dog’s life stage, and supports good appetite, stool quality, body condition, and overall health. A high price is not a guarantee of suitability.

Is lamb-and-rice dog food hypoallergenic?

No. Ordinary lamb-and-rice formulas may contain chicken or other proteins. The IAMS lamb formulas here include chicken-derived ingredients. Dogs with suspected or confirmed food allergies need a veterinarian-directed elimination diet or therapeutic food, not a formula chosen only because lamb appears first.

Should dogs eat grain-free food?

Grain-inclusive food is a reasonable default unless a veterinarian identifies a specific reason to avoid an ingredient. The FDA says the relationship between some diets and non-hereditary DCM remains unresolved; do not assume all grain-free foods are dangerous or that added taurine makes a questionable diet safe.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

How can I compare the real cost of two dog foods?

Use cost per 1,000 calories: bag price divided by total calories in the bag, multiplied by 1,000. Use the current bag’s calorie statement, grams per cup, and weight. Also account for shipping, membership fees, promotions, feeding amount, treats, and food that may go stale before it is used.
