When two countries use the same species, a reader may wonder whether a national bird is meant to be unique. The joke treats shared symbolism as a branding problem: if a bird is common over a large area, what makes it specifically national?

Symbolic association can still matter
A species does not have to occur only in one country to function as a symbol. The comic question is whether a shared or regional bird feels sufficiently distinctive, not whether symbolism is invalid whenever another country also encounters the species.

Do not repeat the chick claim as fact
