The rescue says her earlier appeal received more than 22,000 views without a completed adoption—but that does not mean thousands of people applied or formally rejected her. AOL reported the view figure on October 5, 2026, citing the rescue. Check Miracle’s Mission’s current adoption listings and contact the rescue to confirm Laika is still available.
Who is Laika?
Miracle’s Mission describes Laika as a female mixed-breed dog in Essex, UK. In a profile dated November 28, 2025, the rescue listed her as approximately 2.5 years old and around 15 kg, spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Those age and health details come from that dated profile and may have changed.
The rescue says Laika was found on the street after badly injuring a leg, which was later amputated. It describes her as adapted to life on three legs and able to run, jump, and play. Miracle’s Mission says she needs moderate walks and enrichment, and calls for “A loving home that can accept and cherish an active young dog, with three legs.”
What does “rejected by thousands” mean?
The phrase is not a count of formal rejections. AOL reported that Laika’s earlier appeal had more than 22,000 views, citing Miracle’s Mission. Its October 5, 2026 report says no one completed the adoption process; it does not describe 22,000 applications, home assessments, or meetings with Laika. A view indicates that the appeal was seen, not that the viewer was in a position to adopt.
