British veterinary surgeon Dr Janey Lowes is reported to be planning a 620-kilometre (385-mile) run across Sri Lanka in October 2026 to raise US$2 million for a veterinary hospital, rehabilitation centre and national training facility. As of October 4, the reported October 9 start date was still in the future; the run had not yet taken place.
What is planned?
According to a September 30, 2026 report by Business Mondays, Lowes plans to cover 620 kilometres (385 miles) over 22 days. The report describes the challenge as a fundraiser for a proposed purpose-built veterinary hospital, rehabilitation centre and national training facility.
