Perth Zoo’s Zoorassic Park is a dinosaur-themed exhibit with life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, a prehistoric trail and a fossil-dig play area. It opened on 31 March 2025, but the phrase “these school holidays” in the original coverage referred to the April 2025 break—not October 2026. Perth Zoo’s July 2026 page still describes the exhibit, but its current October dates and hours have not been established; check the Zoo’s official visitor information before planning a visit.
What is Zoorassic Park?
Zoorassic Park is a themed dinosaur attraction at Perth Zoo. PerthNow reported that it opened on 31 March 2025. The Zoo’s July 2026 holiday page describes an immersive prehistoric habitat featuring dinosaur figures including Stegosaurus, T-rex and Triceratops. These are part of the exhibit, distinct from the living animals in Perth Zoo’s collection.
The original headline’s “these school holidays” referred to the April 2025 school break. It should not be read as an announcement of a new opening in October 2026.
What can visitors do there?
- Follow a prehistoric trail among life-sized animatronic dinosaurs.
- Let young visitors try the “Play-leontology” or play-leontologist dig pit, where they can take part in a fossil-dig activity.
- Look out for the reported opportunity to meet a dinosaur keeper.
- Learn about prehistoric species as part of the themed habitat.
The 2025 launch report described the trail, animatronic figures, fossil digs and keeper encounter. Perth Zoo’s later page highlights the habitat, named dinosaur figures, digging area and learning activities.
