Measure the visible glass before choosing a size
Measure the rear glass area that will actually show, not the tank’s gallon capacity or nominal size. Tank dimensions vary by style and manufacturer, and Aquarium Vinyl recommends measuring the visible back glass while excluding the rim. Direct-application film requires access to the rear surface. Aquarium Graphix says its material can be applied wet or dry, but use the method specified for the particular product rather than transferring instructions from another background.
