Founded by Romanian veterinarian Dr Alina Sarbu, the practice operates at 82 Triq Knisja Qadima, Siġġiewi, SGW 1704, offering routine consultations, diagnostics and selected procedures in a quiet, dog-free setting.
What Feline Good is
Feline Good is a feline-only veterinary consultancy rather than a full-service animal hospital. Its service list includes general consultations, vaccinations, injections, blood tests, diagnostics, preventive care, subcutaneous fluids, intravenous (IV) drips, behaviour consultations and documentation services.

The consultancy does not perform surgery or advanced hospital procedures. Cats needing an operation, intensive hospitalisation or other specialist intervention would therefore need referral or treatment at a facility equipped for those services.

Who founded Feline Good
Dr Alina Sarbu founded the practice after moving to Malta in 2020. She has worked in veterinary medicine since 2012. Her professional background includes emergency and clinical-practice experience in Malta, and she has pursued further education in feline behaviour.
#1 Best Overall
MaltaToday reported that Sarbu’s approach is based on recognising that cats respond differently from dogs. As she put it, “They aren’t dogs.” She has also said that cats do not like being grabbed or stared at, principles that inform the consultancy’s handling style.
Why a cat-only setting can matter
Feline Good’s model addresses several common stressors associated with mixed-species veterinary waiting rooms and examinations.
A quieter, dog-free environment
The practice avoids barking, unfamiliar dog scents and the general traffic of a shared waiting area. These changes are intended to reduce the sensory triggers that can make a veterinary visit harder for some cats.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFeline-specific handling
Staff use cat-focused equipment and low-stress handling techniques. The aim is to examine the patient without unnecessary restraint, giving the cat more control over how quickly the appointment progresses.
Rank #3
Time to acclimate
According to MaltaToday’s description of the practice, cats are given roughly 10 minutes to explore before examination. Treats and cuddles may be used to help individual patients settle, depending on what they tolerate.
Pheromone support
The office uses a diffuser that releases cat pheromones. Pheromone therapy is presented as an environmental aid, not as a treatment for illness or a replacement for veterinary assessment. Owners considering a cat pheromone diffuser at home should similarly treat it as optional support rather than a substitute for diagnosis or prescribed care.
What the consultancy can and cannot provide
| Care area | Available at Feline Good |
|---|---|
| Routine and preventive care | General consultations, vaccinations and preventive care |
| Testing and treatment procedures | Blood tests, diagnostics, injections, subcutaneous fluids and IV drips |
| Behaviour | Behaviour consultations |
| Surgery | Not offered |
| Advanced hospital procedures | Not offered |
This distinction is important when booking. A cat with a problem that may require surgery, continuous monitoring or advanced hospital care should be directed to a hospital service rather than assuming a consultancy can provide it on site.
Recognition and regulatory record
Feline Good’s official About information identifies International Cat Care Cat Friendly Clinic Bronze recognition for 2026. The practice states that the recognition is valid through September 2027. Bronze recognition signals participation in an external cat-friendly clinic programme; it is not a claim that every patient will experience no stress or that the consultancy provides hospital-level care.
Best Value
A Malta Commerce Department trademark extract records the Feline Good Veterinary Consultancy mark as applied for on 11 September 2025 and registered on 7 April 2026, with Alina Sarbu named as applicant.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What cat owners should ask before an appointment
- Describe the reason for the visit and ask whether the consultancy provides the specific examination or procedure required.
- Ask where a cat would be referred if surgery, advanced imaging or hospitalisation became necessary.
- Tell the team about previous difficult visits, handling sensitivities, medication and behaviour triggers.
- Confirm what preparation is needed for blood tests, IV treatment or other procedures.
- For an urgent or rapidly worsening condition, seek emergency veterinary advice rather than waiting for a routine consultancy appointment.
Why this matters for Malta’s cat owners
Feline Good adds a cat-specific option to Malta’s veterinary landscape, with its environment and procedures designed around feline behaviour rather than adapting a mixed-species clinic for cats. Sarbu has described the goal as creating a safe space where cats can be completely relaxed. The available reporting describes the practice’s methods, but it does not publish a measured reduction in stress, patient-volume data or clinical-outcome statistics. Owners should therefore view the cat-only environment as a practical handling approach, while choosing care according to the cat’s medical needs and the consultancy’s stated limits.
