The HHOLOVE Automatic Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Box Pro, model CL-TYW, is designed for a narrow group of cats: adult-sized cats weighing 1 to 10 kg (about 2.2 to 22 lb) that are at least 6 months old, using clumping litter, on a flat, hard floor, with a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network if you want the app. If your cat or your setup falls outside those limits, the manufacturer’s own guidance says this box is not the right choice.
This is a fit-and-constraints review built from the manufacturer’s product page, its quick guide and its accessories page. It is not a hands-on performance test. We have not verified cleaning reliability, odor control, sensor accuracy or how cats respond to the unit, so those questions are addressed only where the manufacturer makes a claim, and we label it as such.
The product and its published specifications
HHOLOVE sells this unit as the Automatic Cat Litter Box Pro and identifies it as model CL-TYW. The figures below are the manufacturer’s published values. None of them has been independently measured in this review.

The 6 L drawer is the figure most relevant to daily upkeep, and the sources do not say how many days of waste that holds for a given cat. Treat it as a volume, not a runtime.

Who the box is built for
The manufacturer sets several limits that work together. Check all of them before buying, because a single mismatch changes the answer.

The crystal-litter exclusion matters more than it looks. Many households use crystal litter for odor control, and the manufacturer’s position means that habit has to change before this box works as designed. The 9 lb fill ceiling also means you should not treat the box as a bottomless tub.

Placement, Wi-Fi and the app
Choosing a surface
The product page recommends a flat, hard surface. Because the unit uses weight sensing, anything that changes how weight is transmitted to the floor, such as a rug or a floor mat, is a possible source of error. The manufacturer does not quantify this effect, so the safest reading is to place the box directly on the floor.
App setup and the control button
The quick guide makes the app optional. Its wording is that the litter box “can be operated with control button only or download APP for more customizable options.” Setup through the app requires secure 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and the quick guide says Bluetooth must be enabled during setup. If you do not want to depend on a phone or home network, the control button is the manufacturer-supported way to run the unit day to day.

The app is where customization happens. The manufacturer lists customization as the app’s purpose, but the sources do not list which settings are available on which app version, so check the app store listing before you commit.

- Four weighing sensors. The product page describes four sensors used to detect the cat and track use. This is a design description, not a measured accuracy figure.
- App tracking. HHOLOVE says the app tracks toilet visits, time spent in the box and cleaning status. Confirm the exact metrics in the app before relying on them, since the sources do not describe their accuracy.
- Pinch-free design. The product page says “Pinch-free design, tested by users in 106 countries and regions worldwide.” This is the manufacturer’s own statement. It is not an independent safety study or a certification, and it should not be read as proof of safety.
- Odor and health benefits. The sources do not establish a measured odor reduction or any clinical health value. Any benefit you observe will be your own observation, not a published result.
The product page also shows a customer-review count, which was 88 on the US page at the time of writing. Retailer-hosted reviews are not an independent survey, and they do not measure cleaning reliability or cat acceptance.

The quick guide recommends a transition that is worth following, because a sudden change of box is the most common reason cats avoid a new litter location. The manufacturer’s steps are:

- Place the new unit where the old box stood, so the cat keeps the same location.
- Keep the old box nearby during the transition, so the cat has a familiar option while it adjusts.
- Add a scoop of the litter the cat already uses to the new box. Note that the new litter must still be clumping, as the limits above require.
The guide does not give a timeline. Watch your cat rather than a calendar, and keep the old box available until the cat uses the new one reliably.
Upkeep, consumables and compatibility
The package includes 20 liners, a power adapter, a deodorizer, the user manual and the quick-start guide. HHOLOVE’s accessories page lists waste bags, TYpro silicone pads and deodorizer refills. The page does not map each accessory to CL-TYW in a way this review could confirm, so check the compatibility note on the accessory’s own listing before buying a replacement. Generic litter-box bags are not a verified substitute for the manufacturer’s liners.
Where to buy and what to check at checkout
The manufacturer’s own product page is the most direct source we could confirm for CL-TYW. We did not verify any third-party seller or Amazon listing, so confirm the seller, model number and return terms before ordering. Prices and stock change, and the price shown on the product page at the time you read this may differ from any figure we could see. Check the price and the warranty terms on the day you buy.
Evidence limits
The manufacturer’s specifications are the strongest evidence in this review, and they are the manufacturer’s own. No independent laboratory test, long-term owner study or certification is cited for cleaning performance, odor control, sensor accuracy, durability or real-world drawer capacity. If those points decide your purchase, look for long-term owner reports that describe the same cat weight and litter you use, and treat them as anecdotes until they are independent measurements.
