The Petphabet Jumbo Covered Litter Box is a deep, hooded plastic pan with a clear, removable top and a low, flap-free entrance. Its cover and high sides can help contain scatter and spray while keeping the box visible and accessible for scooping, but they do not make it mess-proof. The key question is fit: the listed outside dimensions sound generous, yet a Cats.com reviewer found a larger test cat somewhat cramped.
What the Petphabet Jumbo Covered Litter Box is like
The box has a high-sided tray and a transparent hood held by four clips. Remove the hood for an open-pan setup or to clean the tray. The front opening has no flap, so there is no swinging door for a cat to push through.

Cats.com lists assembled dimensions of 24.8 inches long by 20 inches wide by 16.5 inches high, with an entrance measuring 8.2 inches high by 7.8 inches wide. Walmart Canada lists the same assembled dimensions for the teal variant, model 4346885632. Those are product dimensions, not verified measurements of the usable interior; the curved shape may reduce the space a cat has to turn around in. Does it fit a large cat?
Do not judge fit by “jumbo” or the outer measurements alone. Cats.com calls the box large but reports that its larger test cat seemed cramped. Because the listed dimensions do not establish usable floor area, a cat’s ability to turn and reposition comfortably matters more than the label.
Before buying, compare the box’s available interior space with your cat’s body size and usual posture in the litter box. Also check the 8.2-by-7.8-inch entry against your cat’s size and mobility. The low, flap-free entrance avoids a door obstacle, but the opening still needs to be comfortable for that individual cat. For large cats, wall height and entry style are useful comparison points alongside interior length and width; a covered design can also consume substantial floor space. How well does it contain litter and odor?
The deep tray and hood can reduce litter scatter and help contain urine spray compared with an open pan, according to the Cats.com reviewer. They do not prevent all tracking or mess: a cat that digs forcefully may kick litter through the front entrance.

Is the hood easy to clean?
Cats.com found the removable hood straightforward to work with for cleaning. Four clips secure it, and the front opening allows routine scooping without taking the top off. Removing the hood also gives access to the tray for more thorough cleaning or lets you use the box open.
The Cats.com review describes scooping access and hood removal as practical strengths. If your routine involves frequent full cleanouts, the removable top is more useful than a fixed enclosed design; if your cat prefers an open pan, this box can be used without its hood.

Who should consider it—and who should look elsewhere?
It may suit your home if
- You want a hooded box with a clear top so the interior remains visible.
- You value a removable cover and an opening that allows routine scooping.
- Your cat is comfortable entering through the listed opening and has room to turn inside.
- You want to reduce scatter or spray but understand some litter may still escape at the entrance.
Consider another setup if
- Your cat needs more usable interior room than the curved covered design appears to offer.
- Your cat has difficulty using the entrance or does not tolerate enclosed boxes.
- You need a box that prevents scatter entirely, especially with a vigorous digger.
- Your floor space cannot accommodate a box with an outside footprint of 24.8 by 20 inches.
