Measure the space it occupies
Popur lists the X5 at 21.2 inches wide × 30.4 inches deep × 18.2 inches high. With the tray raised, the height is 25.3 inches. Allow clearance for that movement as well as access to the waste receptacle and routine litter maintenance.

Check your cat against the tray
The listed tray area is 19.7 × 15.7 inches. Popur recommends measuring a cat from the neck to the base of the tail and comparing that length with the tray’s 24-inch diagonal. Use the diagonal as a screening measurement, not a promise that every cat of that length will find the tray comfortable; posture and turning room also matter.
Popur says the X5 can be used on carpet or other surfaces and its product page describes casters. The available information does not establish a required clearance or provide independent guidance for every floor type, so confirm placement and stability for your particular setup.

What litter can you use?
Popur says most clumping litter works and recommends low-dust, lightweight litter that absorbs quickly and forms hard clumps. It specifically mentions fine clumping clay and tofu litter. Adequate litter depth matters: the company’s stated stick-resistance benchmark assumes a thick bed of premium clumping litter with more than 8 liters, and Popur recommends topping up every three to seven days for its stated corner-coverage performance.

- Clumping pellets: Popur says pellets should be no more than 3 mm in diameter and 20 mm in average length. It discourages other pellets intended for double-layer boxes unless you accept that sawdust may remain in the tray.
- Crystal litter: Powder-like or small-particle crystals may pass through the sifting mechanism; marble-like crystals may be difficult to sift.
These are compatibility notes from the manufacturer, not an independent comparison of litter brands or formulas. Check the litter’s texture and clumping behavior rather than assuming every product described as cat litter will work equally well.

Does the Popur X5 need special bags?
No special bag type is required according to Popur’s FAQ: it says standard kitchen bags or drawstring bags may be used. However, the product page says the listed item does not include the plastic trash bin. Check the exact bundle before buying so you know whether you need to obtain that receptacle separately; bag compatibility does not mean the bin itself is included.

Popur reports a company-run test conducted from January to April 2023 in one household with five adult cats. The FAQ describes 120 days, 2,455 cleaning cycles, bentonite clay and tofu litter, and litter amounts of 8–11 liters. It says 21 cases involved a clump remaining stuck after the subsequent cleaning cycle, and characterizes the result as approximately 99% stick-free cycles.

That figure is not an independent laboratory result or a head-to-head comparison, and it should not be interpreted as proof that 99% of all clumps will be removed in ordinary use. Popur describes the test as supervised and exploratory or illustrative, and conditions the benchmark on a thick bed of premium clumping litter with more than 8 liters. Litter type, depth, and upkeep therefore matter to the claim.

The product page also advertises up to 30 days of waste capacity for one cat, a 33-pound litter load, operation under 40 dBA, and 99.9% odor trapping. These are manufacturer claims; the page does not provide an independent test protocol for each.
