The Irwin family member Robert Irwin was mourning was Nacho, the family’s pet chicken. PerthNow reported on 12 March 2024 that Irwin shared the news in an Instagram video and introduced two new chickens, Waffles and Mochi.
Who was Nacho?
Nacho was one of the Irwin family’s beloved chickens. Although the PerthNow headline refers to an “Australian Zoo family member,” the article describes a family pet—not an Australia Zoo exhibit or resident. Australia Zoo’s Irwin family profile identifies Robert as a conservationist, photographer and presenter associated with the zoo.
