The ratings are the reviewer’s assessment in the Cats.com review, not controlled laboratory measurements. The same review notes that the granules seemed average in size compared with other clay litters.
Clumping and scooping
Clumping and easy scooping were the clearest positives in the test. That can make daily tray cleaning more straightforward, although individual results may vary with the cat, tray, litter depth and household routine.

Odour control
The reviewer gave both versions 3/5 for odour control. The unscented formula is reported to use baking soda; the scented one adds a floral fragrance. Neither the fragrance nor baking soda should be taken as proof that the litter will eliminate all litter-box odour.
Dust
Dust was more noticeable while pouring than while scooping in the Cats.com test. Customer feedback is mixed as well: a Chewy customer’s March 2025 review, titled “Clumps good,” praised the clumps but described a large dust cloud when pouring. That is one person’s experience, not a measurement of all bags.

Chewy’s product-review page showed 3.7 out of 5 from 91 ratings when accessed on October 7, 2026. This is a changing retailer snapshot, not a performance statistic or a representative survey. Individual comments include praise for clumping and low odour, alongside complaints about dust. Read the Chewy customer reviews as anecdotal feedback rather than a controlled comparison.

Availability and what to check before buying
Cats.com links to Amazon UK listings and describes the product as primarily sold online. Retail availability can change: a Chewy comment from March 2026 reported that the retailer no longer carried it. How to handle and dispose of it
Sanicat’s clumping-range guidance recommends removing clumps regularly and says the range uses oxygen odour-control technology. Its related Clumping Fragrance Free product page recommends a 5cm litter layer, regular removal of clumps and faeces, not flushing used litter, and washing hands after handling. Those are range-level or related-product instructions, not verified package directions for every Extreme variant. Follow the instructions on the specific bag and local disposal rules.

Is Sanicat Extreme worth considering?
It is a reasonable candidate if you want clumping sodium-bentonite litter and value the reported absorbency and scoopability. The trade-offs are less convincing reviewer-rated odour control, possible pouring dust and the choice between floral fragrance and an unscented formula reported to contain baking soda. Because feedback and availability vary, use the test results as a guide rather than a promise, and confirm the exact product and stock before buying.
