Two bull mastiffs were collected by rangers after they escaped in Heathridge, Perth, and fatally attacked Rocco, a Pomeranian, in his family’s backyard. When PerthNow reported the incident on 7 April 2024, the dogs’ fate was still pending an investigation.
What happened to Rocco in Heathridge?
Rocco had been with his family for two weeks when he was killed in the backyard of their Heathridge home. PerthNow reported that the attack woke Samar and her two young daughters. Samar, speaking to 7NEWS, described the distress of returning home without Rocco: “Coming home we have no Rocco anymore so that put so much pressure on me to tell my daughter ‘I’m sorry I couldn’t do anything’,” she said.
