The vacuum behind the under-£55 headline is the Russell Hobbs Atlas2 Pet Cylinder Vacuum. Its £54.99 price was the reported RRP in an English Home article published on 27 August 2026—not a verified current offer. The positive result came from one editor’s experience with her own dog and home, not a controlled test proving that it removes all dog hair or outperforms Dyson or Shark models.
Which vacuum is the article about?
Amber-Rose Hurst, Style & Trends Editor at The English Home, wrote about the Russell Hobbs Atlas2 Pet Cylinder Vacuum after using it in a home with her English Bull Terrier, Spencer. Hurst said it changed her experience of dog hair and described results on her living-room rug. That account is useful as one owner’s experience, but it does not establish how the vacuum will perform in other homes or on every surface. The English Home article, published 27 August 2026.

What features are reported?
The English Home article describes a 700W motor, 3.9kg weight, 2.5-litre dust capacity, three-layer dust-lock filtration and a pet turbo brush intended to lift embedded pet hair from upholstery and furniture. These are reported product details, not independent performance measurements. The English Home article.
Russell Hobbs Australia lists a regional version called the Atlas2 Pets Cyclonic Cylinder Vacuum, model RHCV3601-AU. Its product page specifies a 700W motor, 2.5L capacity, Pet Turbo Tool, 3-in-1 multi-tool, Triple Dust-Lock Filtration, 5m cord and 8m cleaning radius. The page says the pet tool is air-driven and intended for carpets and upholstery. Because this is an Australian model page, confirm the exact UK SKU and included accessories before relying on those details for a UK purchase. Russell Hobbs Australia product page.

What does the dog-hair claim prove?
Hurst’s favorable account reflects her own vacuuming experience with Spencer and her living-room rug. It is not a controlled comparison, and the available evidence does not establish a head-to-head result against a Dyson or Shark model. Nor does it show consistent results across different carpet piles, hard floors, hair types, home sizes or long-term use. Treat “completely eradicated” as emphatic personal language, not a guarantee.
Is it still under £55?
The £54.99 figure was the RRP reported in the 27 August 2026 article, not a confirmed current price. UK retail search results surfaced RHCV3601 listings at £67.99 on Tesco Marketplace and Wilko; Wilko’s result also had conflicting stock information, including a notice that it was unavailable online. Those results do not confirm current price or availability. Check the exact model, seller, delivery terms and live stock before buying. Tesco Marketplace search result; Wilko search result.

What to check before choosing it for your home
- Flooring: Consider whether your main need is carpet, rugs, hard floors or a mix. The available account does not establish performance across floor types.
- Hair location: Check whether the exact UK package includes a pet tool and whether it suits your main problem areas, such as upholstery as well as floors.
- Practical fit: Confirm the UK model’s bin capacity, weight, cord length, cleaning reach and storage dimensions. Do not assume Australian regional specifications apply unchanged.
- Emptying and filtration: Verify what the UK product means by its filtration description and how the bin is emptied, especially if dust handling is a concern.
- Purchase terms: Compare the live price and stock, seller, guarantee and delivery details for the exact model.
The available evidence supports a modest conclusion: the Atlas2 has pet-focused attachments and features, and one dog owner reported a positive experience. It does not support a universal claim that it eliminates dog hair or beats other brands.
