His family suspected he may have been taken and appealed to people in Mt Richon, Armadale and Kelmscott to look out for him and check available footage. The report does not establish whether Ra was later found, so this is a historical account—not confirmation that he is still missing or that the appeal remains active.
What happened to Ra
In a report published on 12 December 2025, PerthNow said Ra had gone missing early that Wednesday from his family’s home in Mt Richon. The article described the incident as potentially involving theft, not as a confirmed theft. Ra was a four-month-old red-and-orange Chow Chow, microchipped and being trained to compete in dog shows. His family expected him to compete on the Friday night after he disappeared and to appear in Santa photographs the following week. PerthNow’s report was by Fraser Williams.

Why the family suspected Ra had been taken
Ra’s owner, dog breeder Nicquelle Rhodes, said the gate at the home had been damaged. She told PerthNow: “The gate has been tampered with, the gate has been bent, I don’t know if by using a tool but it has been bent in a way that it can’t be closed.” Rhodes said she believed someone may have broken or tampered with it. The article provided no independent police confirmation of a theft, so the suspicion should be understood as the owner’s account.

The family’s appeal named Mt Richon, Armadale and Kelmscott. Residents were asked to keep an eye out for the red-and-orange puppy and review available footage. Rhodes told the paper: “We just want him home, we’re desperate.” She also described Ra as “a show dog, very loved and missed by my four children who are 10, six, four and two – someone’s possibly broken our gate and taken him.”
What is known about Ra’s status now
The PerthNow article does not report a later recovery, police update or other outcome. It therefore cannot establish whether Ra remains missing or has been found. The article also printed a family phone number, but that should not be treated as a current contact without confirmation that the appeal is still active.
