How did the cat competition work?
PerthNow’s May 27 preview said the competition would feature domestic and pedigree cats, with Best in Breed and Best in Show awards. It reported that entrants needed registration with a recognised Australian cat governing body. The preview described a capacity of up to 130 competitors, while PerthNow’s May 31 event-day report said about 130 cats competed. These figures refer to competing cats, not the number of human visitors. (PerthNow preview; PerthNow event report.)
Could visitors bring their own cats?
No—not as a general visitor option. The ticketing listing said only authorised cats could attend: competition exhibitors, pre-approved rescues and influencers. It did not allow visitors to bring any household cat simply because they were attending the fair. (ticket listing.)
